Brenda's Bottom and her Birds
Brenda's Bottom and Her Birds in London
'The amazing girl whose bottom grew and attracted birds from far Peru'
Brenda's Bottom and her birds is Clare Stanhope's first children's book publication. It is a beautifully illustrated book that includes the River Thames in it's near entirety and 52 types of birds and many of London's famous buildings and bridges.
The story is about a girl called Brenda who lives in London and has a rather large bottom that just does not seem to stop growing. This is the cause of lots of embarrassment for Brenda as it starts to attract birds from all around the world. We journey with Brenda as she make new friends and finds happiness with her growing posterior.
In a detailed index all the birds, bridges and buildings are named, providing an additional educational element to what is an engaging and visually exciting book for 0 to 5 year olds.
This book fits into CPID's gender diversity agenda!
Clare is originally from Hyde in Cheshire, but now lives and works in South East London.
She loves birds and as a child believed she could fly. As a result of testing this theory, she fell through a ceiling, and on another occasion broke a washing line. She no longer thinks she can fly, except on Sundays when anything is possible!
