Granny Bee by Debbie Carnegie
I was inspired to write this short story from my passion for children and bees. It is the adventures of a grandmother bee teaching her grandaughter how to gather pollen for their Queen. She teaches her how to "Buzz so loud that you want the whole world to hear you" Gather water from the rain, which are the best flowers for pollen. During this adventure they become seperated but with the help of humans become united. There are rhythms throughout the story starting with: "I'm busy busy busy said Granny Bee. I wont be back for supper or tea. It takes me hours and hours to visit all of the flowers." On the last page there are some 'Bee facts'. Hence it also has an educational slant to it.
